Dare DeLano writes both literary fiction for adults, and middle grade fiction.

Her debut novel Abilene will be released November 1, 2023, from Mint Hill Books, an imprint of Main Street Rag Publishing Company. It is available for pre-order here. Her work has been short-listed as a finalist for the Faulkner-Wisdom Creative Writing Competition. She is represented by Jennifer Thompson of Nordlyset Literary Agency.

Dare’s middle grade book Odus and the Long Way Home (The Odyssey) won both San Diego Book Award and the Gold Moonbeam Children’s Book Award in 2014. Dare holds an MFA in creative writing from Fairfield University. Her work has been published in “A Year in Ink Anthology, Vol. 10, San Diego Writers, Ink, and has been exhibited in the San Diego Central Library’s Local Author Exhibition.
